Australians are in a frenzy this week over news that Savoy and Jatz crackers are deliberately created with a jagged edge so that they can be used to cut cheese.

In fact the news was so big, that Arnott's had to weigh in.

“Whilst we can’t confirm the edges were originally created for slicing cheese, the sturdiness and scalloped edge of the Savoy gives it enough strength to handle this operation,” a spokesperson told news.com.au. “The secret to its cheese cutting success might lie in the number of ridges on each biscuit, which many don’t know. Either way, Savoy are Arnott’s number one selling biscuit in the country, along with Jatz.”

Danny Lakey decided it was time to conduct a full experiment, so that the people of Australia could truly know if this was possible. Just how would the humble Savoy go against a range of fine cheeses?
