So, we don't really know how to feel about this news, but according to a study published by Scientific Reports, humans aren't the only ones to suffer through a midlife crisis.

Apparently, dogs also have massive changes in the way they perceive life after a certain amount of time, making them less enthused by the little things in life, much like us.

The only difference is, they go through this midlife crisis much earlier on and essentially start enjoying new environments and experiences less than when they were younger.

The experiment was carried out on 200 border collies aged between 0 and 15 years, based on their natural intelligence.

The pooches were tested on a bunch of different things including the way they greet strangers, how they deal with threats, isolation, separation and how willing they are to explore new environments.

The tests were revisited four years later and the researchers were absolutely fascinated by the findings.

Tim & Jess discussed the study this morning and Tim was concerned to learn that his Border Collie cross Kelpie is at the exact age the midlife crisis is predicted to start.
